Midsummer Solstice Spirits.
Midsummer festival is over, the ashes of the bonfires are still smoldering like red flickering dragon realms and all the people have left with blushing cheeks gone to their deep dream sleep when the hidden fae folk comes to life.
It is precisely on this time that all the plants and flowers in the forest are at their most magical. After they have stored the most precious sunlight in their little green veins and roots….they become shapeshifters…They change into a illuminating sea of little flickering lights like fireflies and all the spirits and beings from the otherworlds gathering up to have a little feast of their own.
They are just as beautiful and colorful as the girls who danced around the fires during the day with flowers in their braids and hearts full of joy.
But maybe these midnight fairies are just a little bit more cheekier.
Playful and challenging you could say, but with good intentions, usually…not for all.
They love to play wicked tricks on those who have wronged them or other nature beings.
So you have to be extremely careful when you wander into the forest for a midnight walk on this Summer Solstice night.
Make sure you have some offerings for them in your pockets, a piece of honeycake or a bottle of blueberry brandy, they love sticky sweet stuff.
And it might be your only ticket out of the forest….

I work together with a Dutch local art printer. This professional print studio produces museum-quality fine art prints on Hahnemuhle Fine Art paper and archival inks. Please note that the actual print might look slightly different from what you see on your computer screen, colors may vary. I photograph all Spirits and beings in daylight, but keep in mind the colors can be slightly different once you receive the print. Handle with Care. When taking your print out of the package it might be rolled up (A2 size) do not be temped to roll it the other way since it might crease the paper. Instead leave it on a flat clean surface and it will flatten itself without you have to do anything. If framing your print please do so with care. Prints printed with a lot of black ink can be damaged more easily when touched with fingertips, and I happen to use a lot of dark colors. Make sure you have clean hands or wear gloves.
